BCSO Explorers Win Top Awards
Members of the Bay County Sheriffs Office Explorers Program recently attended the Florida Sheriffs Explorers Association conference and received several awards for the outstanding performance of several team members at this years competitions.

These two awards are given to Law Enforcement Explorers who have shown dedication and service above and beyond the call of duty to their post, community, and region.

Christa L. Hoyt Memorial Award for Explorer of the Year
This award is given by the Alachua County Sheriff Office to the FSEA Explorer of the Year for outstanding leadership, post activity involvement, and work ethic. This is the top award given by the FSEA.

Patrick Walshe Community Service Award
This community service award is given by the Orange County Sheriffs Office to an Explorer for outstanding commitment, dedication, and loyalty.

Crime Scene Competition
This team was required to accurately measure and log all evidence in a mock crime scene. Then the evidence was removed and the students were required to recreate the crime scene using only their documentation. The students placed second in this competition.
