Just Dumb Criminals

From time to time, people get arrested for just plain stupidity. They leave you scratching your head in amazement and wonder. Even In Bay County.

So, here is Bay Counties submission to The Worlds Dumbest Criminals

Incident Report Of The Day

On The Listed Date And Time I Was Patrolling The Area Of Highway 77 And County Road 2321. I Turned Off Of County Road 2321 And Was Heading North On Highway 77 And Was Behind A Green Mazda Car Bearing Florida Tag(394Vbg). Once I Got Directly Behind The Vehicle The Driver Turned Sporadically East Onto Ball Park Road As If The Vehicle Was Attempting To Elude Me. I Passed Ballpark Road And Turned My Lights Off And

Circled Back Around To Observe The Vehicle. The Vehicle Went Down Ballpark Road And Turned Around In The Parking Lot Of The Closed Ballpark And Came Back Onto Highway 77. I Conducted A Traffic Stop At This Time On The Vehicle At The Intersection Of Highway 77 And Highway 2302.

Contact Was Made With The Driver George Townsend. Townsend Advised His License Is Suspended Which Is Why He Turned Down Ballpark Road To Avoid Being In Front Of Me. I Confirmed With Dispatch That Townsend'S
License Was Suspended And He Was Placed Under Arrest For Driving While License Suspended.

I Made Contact With The Passenger Who Identified Himself As Joseph Bartlett. Bartlett Was Highly Intoxicated And Very Belligerent While Speaking With Him. It Was Learned Through Dispatch That Bartlett Had Two Active Warrants For His Arrest. I Placed Bartlett Under Arrest At This Time For The Active Warrants. Once Bartlett Was In Handcuffs He Became Very Irate And Combative. While Placing Bartlett In The Vehicle He Kicked Me Twice In The Leg. Once I Was Able To Get Bartlett In The Vehicle Bartlett Proceeded To Spit At Me Hitting Me Twice. I Was Able To Strap Bartlett To The Back Seat. Both Bartlett And Townsend Were Transported And Turned Over To The Bay County Jail Where Bartlett Was Also Charged With Battery On Law Enforcement Officer.

Note: During The Transport To The Bay County Jail Bartlett Continually Stated He Was Going To Shoot Me When He Gets Out Of Jail. Bartlett Stated He Was Going To Shoot Me With A Shotgun While I Was
Driving Down The Street. Bartlett Then Started Yelling Stanford Will Be Shot.
